Justice is a new life group at Refuge - the high school student ministry of Healing Place Church. We’ll meet on Saturdays at 8.30 a.m. beginning on 3.24.07.
Justice Projects. If you haven’t heard about them yet, you will. Justice Projects take charity to a new level. The Justice life group’s goal is to help prepare ourselves for being a part of Justice Projects - to think beyond ourselves to reaching the world. Our purpose cannot be met if we as students get caught up in our own affairs… our own social life… our own problems…. We must change our focus from our own little world and begin to see the big picture. We have to keep our eyes fixed on eternity. One of the best ways to change a self-absorbed mindset is to be involved in seeing outside to the world around us- the hurting, the hopeless, the forgotten. If we want to change this world we must get over the habits of being consumed with ourselves and we must focus on THEM! Our passion for God will drive us… and He will put a deep love inside of us for the people of the world. The whole point of living is to share God with others. What else would make life worth living?

“I can’t stand your religious meetings. I’m fed up with your conferences and conventions. I want nothing to do with your religion projects, your pretentious slogans and goals. I’m sick of your fund-raising schemes, your public relations and image making. I’ve had all I can take of your noisy ego-music. When was the last time you sang to me? Do you know what I want? I want justice—oceans of it. I want fairness—rivers of it. That’s what I want. That’s all I want.” - God (in Amos 5:21-24 tmb)
dictionary.com says, “Justice can be thought of as distinct from, and more important than, benevolence, charity, mercy, generosity or compassion. All of these things may be valuable, but they are supererogatory rather than required.”
