last night we met at the lake (scuse me- POND..lol) at the highland campus. we ate some watermelon and talked about ways to be effective "mwinjilistis" (swahili for evangelists) we also talked about ideas for the next justice projects.

this week our homework was to...

1) make a list of people whom we know that we need to reach out to and show Jesus to. and pray for them daily- keeping record of how God uses us to touch them and also how He touches us through them.

2) make a list of the things that are wrong about baton rouge (things that are unjust) that we can change

3) get the book "when God writes your life story" by eric and leslie ludy.

we won't be having a meeting this week because of father's day...but otherwise we are scheduled to meet on sundays at 3pm at the annex.

Meet at the Annex ( in front of Refuge ) - 8:30 a.m.

We will take the shuttle to Donaldsonville and return back at 3:30.

Wear old clothes and bring $5.00 for lunch.

ALSO BRING ANY CLEANING SUPPLIES THAT YOU MAY HAVE. Broom, Mop, buckets, old rags, Clorox, glass cleaner, paint brushes etc

so make sure to come!! it's going to be awesome!! bringing refuge to the teens of donaldsonville!!

we will be showing the movie at highland instead of at the annex!!

hey guys,

friday night (april 27th) we will be showing the invisible children movie at the annex (7pm).

this movie is about the kids in uganda who are suffering from the war. (anyone can come watch the movie) and then we are all going to the displace me event the following day.


so make sure to come friday- even if you can't make it to displace me. the movie will definitely shake you up!

and invite anyone and everyone you know!!!

we can be a part of helping end a war in uganda! talk about justice!!

the event is called "displace me". it is going to be held by invisible children on april 28th. the purpose is to raise awareness of the war and the terrible things that the acholi children are being forced to live through.

we're always talking about changing the world...

okay so...last week, we talked about rather than meeting every week, it might work better to meet every other saturday...

however, i still think that it would be a good idea to meet this saturday- because of easter next weekend.

also...

i can't make the saturday outreach...so i'm gonna go to the one on friday...and you guys can pick to go on either (or both).

Just wanted you to know that we are doing an outreach on Friday 3-5pm at Turner Plaza!

We will meet at the Baton Rouge Dream Center at 2:30pm.

We will be going door to door to visit the elderly and handicapped who lost everything in a fire. We will be bringing groceries, comforters, sheets, and pillows.

We would love to have you join us!
